[ You step through this door into a ruined city.]

[ It looks like it might have been like Tokyo-F(?) once, with asphalt streets and skyscrapers. But now it's gray and dead, buildings collapsed into piles of concrete and metal and charred to ashes. ]

[ You can see the power cable on the ground next to you, bright yellow against the dull gray concrete. It weaves its way through piles of rubble and around a corner, leading the way like a string through a labyrinth. ]

[and her cheer is now tempered, brought down quite a bit with the sight, but going to just focus on trailing the cable]

Wait, is this Tokyo-F?

[boy, he doesn't remember Insomnia]

No, this is Lucis. After the attack by Niflheim.

[he trails off, hands flexing helplessly. His own feelings about that can wait though. That goes in a box...]

... what are we supposed to do for Cobalt?

He wishes for light, so we must connect all the cord to outlets. Anything more does not seem too necessary, does it?

I do not know if you ever saw this. King Regis was sure to keep Noctis away for fear of this very event coming to pass.

And Cobalt may have hoped to spare you. We only spoke of it when I remembered visiting the city.

[ The cable leads you down a path through the ruins. ]

[ It's unnaturally quiet out here, save for the soft crunch of glass and gravel underfoot as you walk. ]

[ In the rubble you can see the remains of all sorts of things -- rusted, burned out cars, twisted metal signs, scraps of fabric. And bodies. So many bodies, all of them withered and mummified or reduced entirely to bones. None of them look recognizable. ]

[ As you walk, you start to hear a noise in the silence: the soft hiccuping of someone crying. ]

[ah, yep...]

Hello? You can come out?

[The crying cuts off suddenly, and a moment later, a filthy, tear-streaked face peeks out around a pile of rubble.]

Wh-who's there?

[kneeling]

Lunafreya. We can offer protection if you require it.

[looks the kid over for visible injury, but keeps slight distance. He's big and doesn't wanna scare him]

[looking between the two of you, looking confused and dirty but uninjured.]

Where... where did you come from?

I thought everyone was gone.

We came back to see to something. Soon, we will be on our way.

[holding a hand out to him, come here]

Why have you remained?

We're looking for the end of that, actually.

[points to the cable]

You could come with us, maybe you know where it leads?

I... I don't have anywhere else to go...!

The bad guys came, and all the buildings fell... I can't find my mom and dad anywhere. I looked and looked. And my friends... Yugi... Kaguya... they all disappeared and I can't find them...!

[Fat tears roll down his cheeks, threatening a whole new sobbing breakdown]

You're just here... for the wires?

[not going to move, letting him come to her, and keeping a hand outstretched to him]

We came with that purpose, yes, but we may have found another. I am not certain that we could find them. However, we have found each other, haven't we? We ought to remain together.

[he gets his phone out and looks at the screen, turning to Luna, he mouths 'It's Pink'

He steps aside as she talks to bb Cobalt, tapping on his phone]

[He sniffs and scrubs his cheek, coming over to take her hand.]

Y-you don't... th-think they're here?

I've been looking for so long... I've looked everywhere and I c-can't...

[nodding to gladio. holding baby cobalt's hand firmly, thumb running over his knuckles]

As you said, everyone has left. They may have as well, so we ought to go elsewhere to find them, yes?
