The bad guys came, and all the buildings fell... I can't find my mom and dad anywhere. I looked and looked. And my friends... Yugi... Kaguya... they all disappeared and I can't find them...!
[Fat tears roll down his cheeks, threatening a whole new sobbing breakdown]
[not going to move, letting him come to her, and keeping a hand outstretched to him]
We came with that purpose, yes, but we may have found another. I am not certain that we could find them. However, we have found each other, haven't we? We ought to remain together.
Why d-didn't they t-take me with them? Why did they leave me?
D-don't they k-know how mu-huch I m-miss them?
[His voice stutters and catches, and he's weeping genuinely now]
[Walking beside her. The cable is very easy to follow, since it's so very yellow and easy to see. It snakes around the debris and ends in a pile of rubble. There's a black cord laying nearby, unplugged. It appears there was a wall here once, and when it fell, it fell on the cable and yanked the two ends apart. While the black one is just laying there, the yellow one is under a pile of debris. The concrete chunks are too big for a tiny child to move, but you'd be able to move it easily with a little elbow grease. You're very strong, after all.]
[ok, no, picking up the baby and rubbing his back]
They would be here if they could. I am certain you know that much. However, it cannot be helped that they cannot in this moment. Would you wish them harm or danger only so that you could have them with you?
Not yet, no. But life is full of meetings and partings. You cannot help welcoming those into your life who may suddenly leave, no? So, you must value the time you have with them rather than bemoaning the time that you do not have.
Re: Luctus
[The crying cuts off suddenly, and a moment later, a filthy, tear-streaked face peeks out around a pile of rubble.]
Wh-who's there?
Re: Luctus
Lunafreya. We can offer protection if you require it.
Re: Luctus
Re: Luctus
[looking between the two of you, looking confused and dirty but uninjured.]
Where... where did you come from?
I thought everyone was gone.
Re: Luctus
[holding a hand out to him, come here]
Why have you remained?
Re: Luctus
[points to the cable]
You could come with us, maybe you know where it leads?
Re: Luctus
I... I don't have anywhere else to go...!

You're just here... for the wires?

Re: Luctus
He steps aside as she talks to bb Cobalt, tapping on his phone]
Re: Luctus
[He sniffs and scrubs his cheek, coming over to take her hand.]
Y-you don't... th-think they're here?
I've been looking for so long... I've looked everywhere and I c-can't...
Re: Luctus
As you said, everyone has left. They may have as well, so we ought to go elsewhere to find them, yes?
Re: Luctus
Might be better to cover more ground, yeah? I'll look over there.
[makes a vague gesture to the way they came]
Re: Luctus
You think they... left me?
[Gladio can head back the way he came, if he wants! It's easy to see where to go with this bright yellow cable on the ground.]
Re: Luctus
Re: Luctus
Come, let us see about this light.
[and standing up, going to follow the cable with him]

I don't want to be aloooone!
[SOB SOB SOB]

Re: Luctus
[Hic]
No, I — you're not going to leave me too, are you?
Re: Luctus
Re: Luctus
[Well, he hates it, and he's perhaps too young to fully appreciate the truth of her words.]
[So all he does is wrap his little arms around her tight and cry some more]
P-please don't l-leave me here...!
Re: Luctus
Re: Luctus
[He sniffs, and huffs, trying really hard to pull himself together. He's trembling a little, clinging to your neck.]
O-okay. Okay.
