Hmm. Yeah, I can see that. So much of the things in our lives are so monumentally beyond our control, it's nice when we get a chance to feel like we can make positive changes in the world.
It can be hard when we feel obligated to do that, though. Especially when we have our own problems to deal with. Sometimes it can be hard to feel responsible for other people's junk when we already have our own junk to carry.
Obviously it's different if we're dealing with our own injuries, but... Mm, even those are easier for us to handle, depending on what it is. We can turn off our pain and recover by eating or sleeping, sometimes even mid-game.
Everyone's got a different perspective on it, though. I've been studying medical texts since I got here so I could improve at treatments even for cases that can't be healed by our powers. So in a way I'm already prepared for the idea of having to tend to others even if I'm feeling unwell myself. But there's other people on the unit who will help where they can, but since they didn't exactly "sign up" for it, they aren't going to go out of their way if they're dealing with too much already.
Well... Snacks, especially nutritious ones, are really helpful. Those are the best things for healing us, after all. Sports drinks have electrolytes, which can be useful for rehydrating too.
[ Hundreds upon hundreds of photos are hung on string lights all over the wall, each attached with a little wooden clothes pin. Along with the photos are various notes and small mementos, tied on like ornaments with colorful bits of strings and ribbons. ]
[ On a small table pushed up against the wall are pens and paper, strings and clothes pins, and even a small printer for printing photos from your phone, in case party guests would like to make any contributions. ]
[The photos seem largely arranged by unit. They're pictures of individuals as well as groups. Pictures of people doing stupid lives, or chilling out at home. Pictures taken during weird games, people wearing Halloween costumes, and dressed for prom and masquerades. Hundreds of happy moments as far as your eyes can see.]
[It's huge, actually! One big chunk of the wall is white hair and pink clothes as far as the eye can see.
There are a lot of Persephone, wearing the same perfectly curated expression even though all the scenery and outfits change dramatically from one photo to another. There are pictures of him and Cobalt having tea at a picnic, playing a drinking game together in a lively bar in Liar Hell, and being wallflowers together during Imeeji's first mistletoe game. Here he is looking regal and delicate on the back of a beer bike, ruffles ruffling in the breeze. There's him in his masquerade gown, and his halloween gown, and his "going out" gown, and his "staying in" gown, and his "the rest of you chumps only wish you were on my level" gown. There are pictures of him singing, and dancing, and sweetly petting an enormous spotted cat the size of a couch.
There are lot of pictures of Leviathan, too, where he and Cobalt are sparring, or wearing super hero suits. There's one where Cobalt appears to be a 40 year old man and Leviathan is maybe 6 at most, exploring a shopping mall together while looking for ice cream. There's one where Leviathan has pressed his entire face into the thick mane on Cobalt's spotted neck. In all these pictures, his expressions are dramatic in every direction and it's very easy to tell exactly what he was feeling at the moment the pictures were taken.
There are a handful of Sekhmet, doing stuff like holding a beautiful lantern at a solstice party, or her and Cobalt unloading a vanload of food at the onsen for a self-care live.
Some of these pictures are a bit old, showing faces you may not recognize, but Cobalt looks happy as they eat lunch together or play card games.
There's one in here that's tucked behind some of the others. It's a picture of Lucifel rubbing Cobalt's back while he sobs into his own hands, looking hunched over and small. It doesn't seem like a very happy moment, actually. But it does seem important.
And of course, there are a lot of pictures of Izanagi up here, too! There's him dressed up for a murder mystery at the Met Gala, and him and Cobalt riding a motorcycle together, and sampling pastries at the bakery. Here's Cobalt as a harpy petting Izanagi as a werecat, and assaulting Izanagi with a gift basket after a hard game. There are also a bunch of random candid shots of Izanagi looking cool while riding a motorcycle or wielding a paintball gun, or just looking happy in general, even if he's not doing anything in particular.]
...I feel like I just walked in on a stalker's room.
[What's with those candid shots!!
But he doesn't really change much - he'll try to pull the one of Lucifel comforting him out a little more, and arrange the Sekhmet pictures nicely so they'll be well-remembered.]

Do you ever feel that way?

Re: Welcome
Still, seems like a lot to deal with sometimes.
If there were something people could do to make your life easier, what would it be?
Re: Welcome
Re: Welcome
I haven't figured out how to stop people from doing that yet, unfortunately.
Re: Welcome
Re: Welcome
Yeah. I guess so.
Re: Welcome
Re: Welcome
I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks for letting me know!

Re: Welcome
Sometimes I'm not sure I do a very good job.
Re: Welcome
Re: Welcome
Some people want to be held and reassured. Some people hate that.
Some people want treats and gifts. Some people find that offensive.
Some people want you to spend time with them. Some people want to be left alone.
I'm never really sure what different people need to feel loved. I'm still learning how to do this. ...I make a lot of mistakes.
Re: Welcome
You can notice how people react to certain gestures, but that's the easiest way to figure it out for sure.

You're welcome to make yourself at home anywhere in the house, as well!

He'll wander over to the sensitIV groupings and see how large or small that grouping of photos is?]
