I think this is just one of those things I just need to be upset about for a bit. Process my feelings so I can let them go, you know?
The memory I took the other day basically gave me confirmation that nearly everyone I loved died in an invasion. I'm planning on planting some flowers on the balcony as like... a memorial, to all the people I miss.
[Though his face is calm, his feelings just get sadder the more he speaks. It's absolute heartbreak, grief so strong it's almost crushing, a desperate longing for people he's afraid he'll never see again. It just... hurts. It Hurts.]
...So while I like gardening, it feels unfair to do it now when other people will be subjected to the way I know I'm going to feel about it.
[ nods. ] No, that makes sense. I'm sure it's still sinking in, and like you said, you still need to process it, but I think a memorial garden is a beautiful idea. [ it's a lot. but yugi is going to stand tall and let cobalt express these emotions so he can start to get it all out. that's the first step. just accepting that he is upset and heartbroken. ] I'm sorry, Cobalt. [ he removes his hand from cobalt's, but only so he can give him a hug. he wants to be reassuring, to let cobalt know that if he starts to crumble under the weight of these emotions that yugi will be there for him. ]
It's not unfair at all. You're entitled to feel that way. In fact, I'd like to help... if that's alright. I can even make you a stained glass sort of plaque.
[He wraps his arms around Yugi in return, feeling grateful and comforted. He takes a breath and tries to push all his sadness down, as if he's telling it "not now." He's still a little sad, but calmer.]
Thank you. That's really sweet.
Maybe we can talk about this more after the game? I know I'm going to feel guilty if I try to deal with this where everyone has to feel it, and I'd rather not feel guilty about being sad. So let's put this aside and go ride a motorcycle for now.
[ he nods against cobalt's chest. ] Of course, Cobalt. [ he can understand that, so he'll file it away for later. ]
[ taking out his keys he shifts his feelings toward their little adventure, passing them off to cobalt. ] It's not as hard as it looks! though it can take a bit of practice, but we can definitely take it slow. [ and he'll rattle off a bunch of how-to instructions as they get to the bike! once there, he grabs the helmet sitting on the back and hands it to cobalt. ]
[He listens carefully to the instructions, and the distraction helps push his sadness even farther into the background. He's paying such close attention that when Yugi hands him the helmet he automatically tries to put it on—forgetting, once again, that he has antlers.
Bonk!
He feels a little silly, but this is also kind of funny if he thinks about it.]
ah! It was just a reflex. I just kind of... [ he's going to cover his face with his hands, embarrassed, though not going to lie it's also kind of a little funny. ]
I'm so sorry Cobalt. [ don't mind him... taking the helmet back and just attaching it to the back of the bike as he holds them out. ] I can't believe I did that.
[He doesn't know how sensitive the accelerator is, so he eases into it gently. He starts rolling forward, tentatively, speeding up to what is still a low and manageable speed.
He practices accelerating and decelerating, steering, braking, etc, just getting a handle on what everything feels like and how responsive it is.]
[ that's kind of the perfect way to go about this, so yugi is going to give him encouragement and congratulations and all that good stuff every step of the way. ]
Not bad, Cobalt, you're really getting the hang of it.

Re: Yugi
No worries! I still forget all the time.
Guess I'll try to contain myself and not drive like a complete maniac.... this time.
[He sits down on the motorcycle and starts familiarizing himself with all the dials and knobs Yugi explained to him.]
Re: Yugi
Let me know if you have any questions! [ excitement... rising... !!! ]
Re: Yugi
Ummmm okay, here we go.

Re: Yugi

Where were we gonna go, again? Somewhere to get some food?
Re: Yugi
Re: Yugi
[Puttering off toward the conbini. Baby's first motorcycle trip! Wheeee]
Re: Yugi
Re: Yugi
[Once they get to the conbini, he parks it somewhere and dismounts.]
Whew, that was fun. Thanks so much!
