[You follow the cable back behind the chairs and into the shadows. It follows the wall to the corner, and there, you find the end of it.]
[Surprisingly(?) there is something plugged into it already -- a red cord. You follow the red cord with your eyes, and you can see it goes up the wall and connects to the spotlight that's lighting the stage.]
[Beside the yellow cable, laying uselessly on the floor, is a black cord that isn't plugged into anything. It looks like someone unplugged it so they could plug in the spotlight, instead.]
[You follow it until it goes through a hole in the wall and disappears. Whatever this is connected to, it probably has some important job to do outside.]
[When you unplug the spotlight, the room goes black for a moment, your hands barely visible in the dim emergency lighting.]
[Then you plug in the flood light and the room gets bright again, like house lights coming on, except warm and clear as sunlight. It feels refreshing, like suddenly you can think a little more clearly.]
[The chairs are empty, the ghostly figures gone without a trace.]
[The mannequin is still standing there in front of the mirror. Mirror!Cobalt is still blandly wondering what to do with himself. The mirror's surface wiggles and sloshes sometimes, but the peanut gallery is no longer around to weigh in on the changes. The atmosphere of the room is just kind of peaceful and unhurried now.]
