current appearance
Tall, lean and muscular, especially in the upper body. Looks healthy and strong. Has numerous scars, most notably one on his face from the bridge of his nose to the outer corner of his left eye, as well as crisscrossed scars over his right forearm. Tends to wear his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, so arm scars are normally visible. There's a particularly ugly scar across his back and upper left arm (rarely visible.) Has a large set of antlers.
Has nerve damage in his right (dominant) hand. Observant characters may notice half the fingers on this hand are weak and have a limited range of motion.
Cobalt almost always carries a small camping lantern, clipped either to his bag or to his belt. Always wears a necklace with a simple chain and a small key, which is usually tucked into his shirt, hidden out of sight.
Under certain conditions, he will transform into a beast.

Corruptions
Antlers
Day 1-6: The antlers grow in over the course of a week, covered in soft, fuzzy velvet. During this time they're sensitive to pressure and the tips have a slightly spongy give to them.
Day 7-34: The velvet peels off to reveal the finished antlers. They're hard and strong, able to endure considerable battle damage without breaking. Which is fortunate, considering how often Cobalt hits them on doorways.
Day 35-37: Antlers are only very loosely attached and any minor jostle will knock them off. The exposed pedicle is covered by his hair and he may experience up to three days of looking like a normal person before the next set starts to grow in.

On Day 216 his antlers began regrowing, and the velvet shed on Day 223. This set had the same number/arrangement of points as the last one, but each tine was slightly longer. Antlers fell off on Day 254.
Set 4
On Day 258 his antlers began regrowing, and the velvet shed on Day 264. This set has the same number/arrangement of points as the last one, but each tine is slightly longer. Antlers should have fallen off around Day 293-294 but, due to a temporary transfer to a part of Hell where time moves differently, they came off around a week early and had regrown by his return on day 291.

Transformation Trigger
• Feelings of social discomfort such as shame, embarrassment, shyness, insecurity, and/or awkwardness.
• The more often/more recently he's used Cloud Nine on himself, the more likely he will be to transform.
• The transformation wears off on its own after a period of time, but happiness/comfort shortens the duration, discomfort extends it.
Appearance
• Visible (black) scar from top of muzzle to left cheek.
• Very soft, plush fur, extra long all the way around his neck.
• Body temperature is several degrees higher than a human's.
• Can't normally speak, but when he does (via potions or w/e) his voice is deeper and rougher than in his human form (not recognizable as his.)
• Whisker tips no longer glow in the light.
• Black spots glow in the dark. Light is relatively faint.
Limitations/Effects
• He is unable to use unit powers while transformed.
• He is only as strong as he is as a human.
• He can only run as fast as he can as a human.
• His senses (vision, hearing, smell, etc) are the same as his human form.
• His claws are blunt and can’t break skin.
• His teeth and jaws are too weak to break skin or pick up anything heavier than what he could normally lift with his mouth.
• He cannot climb or jump.
• He can carry people on his back only as long/as far/as fast as he could do it as a human, carrying someone piggyback.
• He only weighs ~200 lbs (his human weight) instead of ~1200 lbs.
• He cannot speak, nor can he open a bottle of speech potion on his own.
• He cannot open doors.
• He has difficulty accessing food and water.
• His clothes are destroyed upon transformation.
• He’s less inhibited.
• He’s more needy, emotionally.
• Physical touch feels much, much better to him than normal.
Incandescence

Scars glow in the dark as if lit from within. The deeper or more severe the scar, the brighter the light.
Above each antler tip is a hovering, ethereal candle flame. They are more like illusions than actual fire, producing no heat and barely any light.
For both scars and candle flame, light is relatively faint and can only be seen when it's very dark. Intensity of light is also dependent on his vitality. For example, it will dim if he is sick, injured, or depressed, but burn more brightly if he is experiencing a strong emotion (anger, excitement, etc.)
